My Town

A few weeks ago,  I was running errands in the Andersonville neigborhood, and came upon this delightful contraption.  The Puppet Bike!  A musical stage attached to a bicycle.  Entertainment provided by puppets.  I was tickled to find that they were vintage Steiff puppets, like ones in my collection.
I crave whimsy in my life, which I think is why I love making little lovely things for dogs.  I love collecting toys, usually ones that I might have had as a child.  I have vivid memories of going to the Marshall Field's on State Street with my grandmother, and looking at all the Steiff toys.  I can't explain why I never owned any as a child.
