Essentials

The weather got really cold around these parts.  Wind chills below zero.  I'm not minding it much.  I'm properly dressed.  I love that I have wool sweaters and socks to wear.  There's no shortage of hats, cowls, scarves, and gloves for layering.  I even get Madeline layered.  We do two sweaters and boots to protect tender pads from salt.
We're also loving our flannel sheets, down comforter, and layers of quilts.  All these layers and textures make us happy.  Here's LaMad sleeping soundly on  her quilts and alpaca Lyubi blanket (pattern in Doggie Knits).  The vintage gathering basket is set in front of my decorative hearth in the living room.  Vintage McCoy Pottery is in the fireplace.  A cozy tableau.
