San Francisco Keepsake
When I was in San Francisco, I found this handpainted yarn at Noe Knit. It's called Claudia Handpaints. I found out after the purchase that the yarn comes from Virginia, and I really had wanted something that was a San Francisco product. I'm happy with it anyway, and it still is a lovely keepsake from my trip, and a reminder of the happy circumstances. At $22 dollars for a hank, it seemed a little pricy for a pair of socks, especially the way I'm wearing them out these days. The perfect project was my favorite shawl, the Shapely Shawlette by Judy Pascale. I like this pattern so much that another one is on the needles now. In the bottom photo it's shown with a hair elastic holding it closed, which is mostly how I wear it. I found that the elastic slides off my alpaca shawlette, so I tie that one closed. The top photo is a better representation of the colors. It's shaped to stay on your shoulders, and as Judy says, doesn't fall in the mashed potatoes!

What a lovely shawlette & what a great memory of the photo shoot in SF (even if it is VA yarn). This spring weather here in Chicago is perfect for wearing it now! :)
