It's today. I'm one year short of a milestone. This time of year, with my birthday coinciding with the year's end, I usually end up musing about the past year, and what lies ahead. It's been a busy year for me. I (maybe) finished a book, participated in some upscale shows, and knit a lot of stuff. The Man and I made it through another year of cohabitation unscathed. Piccolo just stayed cute and delightful.
What's next? There's a lot of projects to finish, and I want to make having patterns for sale from my site a goal. For the dog sweaters, I may be negotiating with someone for an exclusive line sold under another label. If the book gets published this year, I think I want to have a party for it along with my 50th perhaps, provided that people promised to show up.
I'm on some email lists for pet rescue, which can be a dangerous thing. The little dog in the picture is available through Animal Care and Control in New York City, so no chance of me disrupting my household again to adopt a second pet. If you've followed along this year, you know how that turned out. This little baby, found as a stray (I can't even imagine how scary it is for a little dog vs. New York) is the perfect pet. About 7 years old, Piccolo's age, housebroken, affectionate, and weighs about 12 pounds, just a little more than Piccolo. I can testify that it's a perfect size for cuddling. So, if you're in New York, take this little one home. That's my wish. If you adopt her, and let me know, I'll send you a sweater. I mean it.
