Last fall, it was the Blooming Nine Patch that took months to complete. (I'll admit to having lots of distractions, as well as the more complex design) This fall, I took the Stack and Whack class. I've wanted to take it for a long time, and missed the last time it was offered. This is a Kaffe Fassett fabric, I believe it's called Persian Vases. You stack eight identical repeats of a fabric, and then cut your pieces though the layers. Resulting in a kaliedescope effect. I put together my first one, with my setting fabrics, and it's a misshapen mess. So, this will take a long time to finish, and I'm sure that there will be many, many distractions along the way.
I feel like I'm always overcommitting myself. I take on projects that I don't have time to do to my satisfaction. Lucky Penny will be represented in three shops starting this week, and again, like this time every year, I find myself short on inventory. I suppose it's a good problem, but I need to be more disciplined about resolving it.

I loved this project, but it was so much work! When I did mine, I found that the sewing took a lot of concentration... I could do maybe one a day -- and that was before I had Z. Even then, the centers of the stars were a little wonky on a number of them, but, the truth is, your eye really doesn't see that unless you are looking at things really up close -- it seems like your eye wants to make everything nice and circular and matchy from a distance.
