Addition and Multiplication

A new little quilt for Madeline.  I love high contrast, so this pattern which was in the print magazine Quilty, really appealed to me.  I used low and high volume prints, a lot of Denyse Schmidt prints, and put in some deliberate mistakes for a homespun look.  I have not mastered machine quilting, and I love hand quilting but find it tedious, so my quilts get sent out for some long arm action.  For my dogs, I almost always have a pattern called Dogs and Bones quilted.   It's the profile of a dog, and bones.  I usually don't like obvious dog symbols like bones or fire hydrants, but bones in this pattern (which I realize you can't see in this photo) is subtle enough not to bother me.
