The Kindness of Friends

This sweater was made by a knitting friend of mine, Katherine, who graciously let me borrow her photos for the blog.  She loves making the Gidget Hoodie from the book.  She's made quite a few of them, and in luscious Malabrigo worsted.  Katherine is donating the hoodies she's made for a pet rescue event coming up this weekend.  If you're in the (Chicago suburbs) are, the Almost Home Foundation is hosting an Italian Dinner this Sunday, from 4-8 pm in Barlett, Illinois.  If I didn't have to work, I would drive out for it!  Katherine's sweaters will be available for purchase, and there are a couple of copies of Doggie Knits available as well.  Check the Foundation's web site for details about the event.
Katherine told me that she loves making the Gidget Hoodie, and that it really helped advance her knitting skills.  This sweater has it all--provisional cast on, three needle bind off, top down construction, knitting in the round.  She did a fantastic job!  I'm tickled that her sweaters are so beautiful!

It's adorable! That is the first one I'm going to try (I also queued Yoda).
I have no idea where Barlett is, but I hope they have a great turnout and raise lots of money!

What a beautiful sweater. I'm sure her sweaters will raise a lot of money for the rescue.
