Winning!
This was a big deal to us at the Lucky Penny household. Every year we watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. I love seeing all the dogs. I don't understand the sport, it's just so subjective. But it's fun when a dog that I like takes the big prize. After many years, a Piccolo dog. A Pekingese! I was quoted in the Red Eye this past week, which was a little of a let down, as my book and web site were discussed (my credentials other than being the companion of a Peke) but not mentioned in the article. This little one is just magnificent. I read a lot of ignorant comments on Facebook about how he was not a "real dog". I've lived with six so far, and they like to roll in smelly things, and play just like any other. The closest I've had to a show dog in appearance was my Penny, and her looks contributed to her miserable life prior to the one she had with me. I love my imperfect little Piccolo, and every day she's my Best in Show.

I, too, was happy to see a Peke win. My little guy,Pooh, got an extra treat that night. :)
